Samantha Ray Marshall

09/12/1983

Sammy Ray is a well-rounded musician in Wisconsin, USA.  She has been nominated “Female Vocalist, Singer/Songwriter, Best Song, and Best Performer" consistently by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry(WAMI).  Known to be a prominent member of multiple bands she plays guitar, harmonica, banjo, drums, and sometimes keys.  Sammy went to the University of Wisconsin Waukesha for Percussion and UWMilwaukee for Music Education - Finger-style guitar.

Although most known for her country songs,  she is a HUGE fan of progressive rock/metal bands such as Opeth, Pantera, Tool, and Steven Wilson.

"I don't make one 'type' of music.  I don't like to be put in a box.  Sometimes I feel like writing a techno tune, sometimes a boot stompin’ country tune, sometimes an acoustic jam with no words, sometimes I just wanna scream...  And with my various bands, - that's what you'll find. A little bit of everything."

When she's not on stage she has her face in a book studying  the terrain model of disease, or outside kayaking, hiking, spending time with family, and creating original spray paint art.

Sammy is currently active in her solo career, has recently joined a new project, “North of Normal”, and is still actively booking with 90's AF, Bound for Branson, and Lunacy.

"Go all out or don't go out at all." -Sammy Ray
